In brief
Sri Lanka, Post-Tsunami
Hikkaduwa,
2005
In partnership with the National Child Protection Agency.
Over a two week period our facilitators worked with over 30 child orphans focusing on body movement, games, dance and drawing as a way to help them re-engage with life and build their self-esteem after the trauma of the Tsunami. The intense two week workshop was also attended by child carers to build a sense of shared experience and to ensure the games and play were continued after we left.
Lost Child projects involve us working with groups of vulnerable young people on performance projects to build their self esteem, skills and confidence. In operation since 1997, we have carried out over 20 lost child projects in places as diverse as Sri Lanka, Italy, Vietnam, Colombia, Cambodia, Bosnia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Indonesia and Laos.
